What is it all about!

What is IBM Corporate Services Corps (CSC)

They say "World is IBM's Classroom" and I could not agree more. IBM Corporate Services Corps, as many relate modeled on US Peace Corps, deploys selected IBMers in Growth markets to address community, social and economic problems. Its a innovative leadership development program, that aims to turn management prospects into global citizens. As one of the 100 IBM Icons of Progress, it a example of IBM commitment to social resposibility.

All CSC alumni I have met till now describe this once in a lifetime experience and were short of words to appreciate it effectiveness and swear by learning they achieved.

What's benefit of CSC program

  • Communities have their problems solved
  • IBMers receive leadership training and development
  • IBM develops new markets and global leaders

How program works

IBM Corporate Services Corps management teams work with NGO's to identify potential areas of collaboration wherein IBM expertise and resources can help solve a problem, particularly in growth markets.

Every year through rigirous selections process, IBM selects few hundred CSC participants among thousands of applicants. Selected candidates are aligned to project based on skills and experience they have with them and possible contribution they can make to a selected project. Teams are formed, projects are aligned and schedules are developed.

Typically, a team would comprise of 12-15 IBMers from different countries and are not placed in their home country.

Interesting, isn't it ?
